Advantages: - Well, first of all, of course, the sound: very comfortable and musical. It is probably pointless to try to describe in words what you need to listen to. But still. This amp has the main thing: the sound is very solid and does not at all evoke the desire to look for any shortcomings in it and improve something. Many, I think, are familiar with that feeling when you turn on the system, you seem to want to listen to music, but instead you begin to involuntarily fumble: here the cymbals sounded simplified, here the bass is cardboard... And as a result, there is no satisfaction - instead of enjoying the music, you sit and fidget with the thought, that something needs to change. So, here there is no trace of this feeling left: you just lean back in your chair and a wave of pleasure covers you - there is no longer a desire to dissect the sound, because finally everything is in its place and everything is as it should be.); — I personally really like its design: elegant simplicity and minimalism. The quality of assembly and materials also does not disappoint: everything is very solid and well built; — The amplifier has good potential for pumping up the system: you can plug in a phono preamplifier board, you can buy an additional power amplifier from the same series and organize the connection of acoustics via bi-ampling.

Disadvantages: — The remote control is somewhat simple: it looks like it comes not from a hi-fi device, but from a cheap music center. Of course, a manufacturer can be forgiven for a perfect sound, but why the guys from Exposure needed to abuse it so openly is a mystery; — There is no tone block. Although, by and large, it is not needed here; - No headphone output. Although... Well, you understand; — After the crisis, the price became completely inadequate. Moreover, the exchange rate has increased by 2 times, and the price tag has already increased by 2.5. (A year and a half ago the device cost around 40,000 rubles, now it’s already 105,000). It is clear that this is now the case with almost all equipment, but still... The sound, although good, is, to be objective, not worth 100,000 rubles. I bought a second-hand device for 34,000 rubles, which more or less truthfully reflects the price-sound ratio.

Comment: I have KEF Q300 bookshelf speakers. Previously, I listened to them in conjunction with the Cambridge Audio 640a v2 - an amplifier that was praised by various hi-fi magazines and received 5 stars in tests everywhere. And then by chance I happened to listen to a lot of different things: Marantz, and Rotel, and NAD, and including the ascetic and especially unknown to me at that time Exposure... And with him I simply didn’t recognize my speakers! It feels like acoustics are playing that are two or even three times more expensive. And if my old Cambridge reproduced sound, then Exposure started playing music (But this is despite the fact that the amplifiers are approximately in the same price segment - well, they were before the crisis). All. Cambridge was merged quickly and without regret. I don’t trust tests anymore, and I wish the same for you ;)

Of course, the Exposure player cannot be called a complete all-rounder, but its sound is sometimes extremely rich and rich. Just remember that the 2010S2 is willing to sacrifice smoothness, coherence and dynamics to achieve this.

Eight years have passed since the first test of this player. Since then, only the name has changed - it is intended to emphasize the relationship with the S2 amplifier. A year ago, we gave this turntable top marks for its build quality and immersive sound.

Its design can no longer be called a reference, but the aluminum body (silver or black) looks impressive, the neat front panel combines stylishly with a legible display.

In addition to coaxial and optical outputs, there are also a pair of analog outputs. The remote control doesn't impress with its usability; It looks quite cheap, and it’s easy to get confused with buttons of the same size. The disc release mechanism seems too flimsy, and the sound when loading a disc is too harsh.

When we first met it, we admired the invigorating sound and amazing dynamics of this player. And today no one would call S2 timid; We really like his energy and straightforwardness. If you like to get drive from music, pay attention to this player.

However, by today's high standards, such pressure and pressure can be excessive when listening to the most aggressive recordings. In the song Chambers And Valves

Clarity of voice

The vocals sound quite clear, although at times they seem harsh, and the multifaceted nuances of Kate Bush's unique voice are not fully conveyed.

Rhythmicity was one of this turntable's greatest strengths; Now the energetic sound slightly reduces the accuracy of tempo reproduction. Audiolab 8200CD is noticeably stronger in this sense; he is better able to combine rhythm and other components of music into one whole.

The first thing the manufacturer recommends doing after purchasing the player is to warm it up for 48 hours. And before each next listening, it is advisable to spend at least another half hour on this. Agree, it’s not very convenient. After all, the initial warm-up could have been done at the factory. However, nothing terrible happened when we played the new copy for about thirty minutes on a variety of materials - then we simply admired the stunningly clear and beautiful sound. And one more important touch - experiment with the polarity of the plug: we assure you that in a good audio system the difference in sound quality when connected correctly to the network will be noticeable. Exposure 2010 S2 reads only original information from CDs and their clones on discs, ignoring the “free cheese” - MP3 files. And we will not count this circumstance as a minus for him - we will leave canned audio to portable gadgets. The player perfectly coped with frantic heavy metal, retaining all the fury, pressure and dynamics of brutal works, but without the mess, ringing and other distortions. And if a lover of harsh styles can handle the fact that the model’s body is not studded with spikes and rivets, he can safely purchase it and fully enjoy the energy of heavy rock. When we listened to recordings of classical works, we were even a little embarrassed. The symphonic opuses sounded so masterly, delicate, comfortable and truthful that, having driven away the image of a shocking man in leather and chains, we imagined an experienced connoisseur of beauty in a chair in front of the apparatus, experienced in subtle and complex music. After all, even such a music lover can safely recommend the tested player. As for the styles that are sort of in the middle of the musical palette, any well-recorded disc will amaze with its amazing purity, transparency and bright emotions. And the sound of Exposure 2010 S2 has the warmth inherent only in analog technology. As for pricing issues, it is extremely difficult to get such luxurious sound for this amount.
