JBL LIVE FREE NC+ and JBL LIVE PRO+ - new TWS headphones from JBL

I think ]JBL[/anchor] certainly needs no introduction. Its products have literally flooded the whole world with their wireless speakers, which most users, based on a whole range of qualities, consider to be the best in their segments for a reason. Most likely, such success was primarily due to the fact that JBL were pioneers in the world of wireless, bright and universal speakers that almost everyone could afford and be satisfied with the purchase. Unlike portable speakers, headphones from this legendary American brand did not shine so much. Of course, like acoustics, JBL headphones are very popular, but most of them, unlike wireless speakers, were very difficult to classify as things that will serve you for many years and at the same time provide good sound quality. But, as you understand, I was wondering if the situation with JBL headphones has changed now, in 2022, so I decided to try something in the most popular segment, namely TWS headphones, and even with the currently fashionable function of active noise reduction.

⚙️ JBL LIVE FREE NC+ TWS and JBL LIVE PRO+ TWS - interesting features

JBL LIVE FREE NC+ TWS and JBL LIVE PRO+ TWS are equipped with a Smart Ambient technology system: Ambient Aware and TalkThru, with one touch they switch from being completely immersed in music to monitoring the environment or talking with an interlocutor without removing the headphones.

  • The active noise cancellation system in JBL LIVE FREE NC+ TWS limits the user from the outside world and allows you to focus on the task at hand.
  • JBL LIVE PRO+ TWS uses advanced Adaptive Noise Canceling technology with the ability to adjust the level of muffled sounds.
  • Different in form factor, but equally comfortable, the new products guarantee a secure and comfortable fit in your ears for a long time thanks to replaceable soft silicone ear pads, which come in three different sizes.
  • The headphones are not afraid of playing sports or walking in the pouring rain; JBL LIVE FREE NC+ TWS are protected from moisture and sweat according to the IPX7 standard, and LIVE PRO+ TWS are protected according to the IPX4 standard.

Design and quality

At first I didn't really like the design of these headphones. Yes, of course, it inherited the characteristic JBL design features (rounded and streamlined shapes), but still it seemed somehow faceless and ordinary to me. But later I realized that in this way JBL is simply trying to please as many customers as possible, because the Samsung concern, which bought up almost half of the reputable audio companies, including Harman, which includes JBL, wants to squeeze everything out of this brand to the maximum . Over time, I have become more lenient with design. Yes, these are not $100,000 Bowers & Wilkins nautilus speakers with an alien design, but there is still something about these headphones that somehow makes them stand out.

I would probably compare the JBL case with the Apple airpods pro case, but with a slightly larger size and a Type-C connector on the back. It is entirely made of strong, matte, black plastic, which looks not only strict, but even brutal. Even the JBL nameplate is written in black letters.

Now guess what color the whole case was inside? That's right, black. Thank God that at least the manufacturer decided to write “JBL” in white letters on the headphones! By the way, they are also made of plastic, but rubber gaskets are inserted between the front and back of the headphones, which, apparently, will help your headphones not fall out of your ears, and also provide good dust/moisture protection at the ipx5 level for sports and walking in the rain.
