Connecting a headset

How to set up a Bluetooth headset on Android or other brands of devices? Before connecting it, make sure that your smartphone has a Bluetooth function - in principle, any modern gadget has it. It is also advisable that both devices be charged so that the Bluetooth connection process will not be interrupted if the phone or headset is discharged.

So, pairing a phone on the Android platform or with any other system and a Bluetooth headset occurs as follows:

  • Turn on the hands-free accessory, activate the Bluetooth function on your phone - you will find it in Settings, regardless of the manufacturer or system on the gadget.
  • Now on the Bluetooth headset you should find a function key that will put it into pairing mode. In most cases, you need to hold down the main key and hold it for a few seconds. If the LED begins to flash in different colors after turning on and holding down the button, it means that it has entered pairing mode.

IMPORTANT. Often, if you just bought a Bluetooth headset and have not previously used it for connection, you don’t have to put it into pairing state, but simply turn it on - the first time it is automatically configured in this mode. However, if you were unable to pair it with your Android phone this way, then use the above recommendation.

  • Let's return to your phone - search for devices with the activated function.
  • When the name of your Bluetooth device appears in the list, select it and establish a connection - be sure to place the devices close to each other.
  • If Android requires you to enter a PIN, use a combination of four zeros, code 1234, 9999 or 0001 - these are the most common passwords for the connection.
  • After pairing is completed, open the connection with the Bluetooth headset that appears on your phone and check the “Sound during calls” checkbox - this is necessary so that when receiving or making calls, all sound is transferred to the accessory.

Headset and iPhone

It is worth recognizing that the number of users of Apple smartphones from Apple is growing rapidly. This is a popular device that is often used for conversations.

And since in some cases it is inconvenient to hold an iPhone in your hands, or it simply cannot be done while driving, you can use a wireless headset with Bluetooth technology.

Before establishing a connection, make sure both devices are charged. Otherwise, you simply won’t be able to set up the connection.

Then the following steps are performed:

  • open the settings menu and turn on the Bluetooth function so that it is in the “On” or “On” state;
  • hold down the button on the headset and switch it to pairing mode;
  • in this case, the LED indicator on the wireless headset usually begins to blink or behave in some other way;
  • now open the list of available Bluetooth devices via iPhone;

  • find your headset in the list that opens;
  • if you need to enter a password, try something like 0000 or 1111;
  • if this password is not suitable, look at the instructions, where it must be indicated;
  • wait for pairing confirmation, which will be displayed as a notification.

That's it, now all that remains is to check that the connection is correct, let's make a phone call.

To disable the Bluetooth headset mode, simply click on the exclamation icon on your smart phone and select the “Disconnect” or “Disconnect” option.

Through the same menu, you can delete the connection so that the iPhone forgets it.

It is important to add one feature related to the iPhone and the operation of a wireless Bluetooth headset. If a device profile is set up and synced with iCloud, then these connection settings will be available on all devices using the same account.

iPhone and AirPods

In fact, this is an analogue of third-party Bluetooth headsets, which are produced directly by Apple itself. Their signature wireless iPods are easy to sync.

To do this, just first charge the case for wireless headphones and open it. The smart phone will then detect the accessories and display a message on the display prompting you to pair.

Headset and push-button phones

Some users have not even seen the times when phones did not have a touch screen. And all tasks were performed using physical buttons.

Yes, modern smartphones also have physical keys. But this is mainly the Home button, as well as volume controls and a button to turn the gadget on and off.

Despite the advent of the era of touchscreen smartphones, many people continue to actively use push-button versions. And they also have Bluetooth functionality. It is important to add that Bluetooth appeared much earlier than touch displays.

This function was actively used on phones such as Nokia, Motorola, Siemens, Sony Ericson, etc. Now not everyone will remember them.

The advent of a wireless headset did not really change anything for push-button phones. It is not difficult to pair with such a device. To do this you need:

  • go to the settings of the push-button phone;
  • activate the Bluetooth function;

  • put the headset into pairing mode, based on the manufacturer’s instructions for the specific model;
  • press the device search key on your phone;

  • find the active headset in the list;
  • click on its icon;
  • wait for connection.

That's all. Now, even on a push-button telephone, you can easily have conversations without using your hands to hold the device.

Headset and Windows 10 computers

Laptops, laptops, tablets and ultrabooks are often equipped with an integrated Bluetooth adapter. This allows you to connect to a wireless headset. This function can be useful for communicating by telephone, if you have a SIM card, or using the capabilities of different instant messengers such as Skype.

If you are using the Windows 10 operating system on a computer with a Bluetooth adapter, you must do the following:

The connection is now established. In the future, pairing will occur automatically when Bluetooth is turned on on both devices.
