Bluetooth technology is a type of wireless communication that has a fairly large range. Thanks to this technology, users can connect all their gadgets, such as smartphones and personal computers, and then transfer the necessary data to them. The main goal of this technology is to replace existing wires, which are usually used to connect all equipment to ensure communication between them.
Almost all devices currently produced have built-in Bluetooth functionality, and the latest TV models are no exception. Certain device models may not support Bluetooth functionality. However, this problem can be easily solved by connecting a special Bluetooth adapter.
What is it and what is it for?
To transmit sound from the TV receiver to wireless headphones, a built-in Bluetooth adapter is used, and if it is not available, a special device called a TV transmitter is used.
The dimensions of the adapter for headphones and TV are small. The form factor of the device is a miniature box or flash drive. The transmitter kit includes a cable for connecting to a television receiver. The device in question performs the following functions:
- Establishes pairing with Bluetooth earbuds.
- Converts the TV sound signal and transmits it in digital Bluetooth format to paired headphones.
Thanks to the miniature transmitter, the user can watch movies and listen to music on wireless headphones at any time without disturbing household members.
Types of adapters
Bluetooth adapters are divided into the following types:
- External adapters;
- Internal adapters.
The two types presented above differ from each other only in functionality and connection method.
Internal adapters are often used to transfer data between personal laptops and computers, as well as headsets and so on. As the name suggests, this type of adapter is installed inside the required device. However, not every user can cope with this, since in this matter it is necessary to have the appropriate knowledge. But despite this, the main advantages of internal adapters are that they are more practical and durable.
External models are quite small in size and connect to various devices, for example, TV equipment, using an external port. It could be USB, TRS, or RCA. The advantage of such adapters is that the user can connect them as simply and quickly as possible, and they are also safe. In addition, the cost can also please the buyer.
Which bluetooth transmitter to choose
The cost of external Bluetooth transmitters for a TV depends on many factors and varies from 300-400 rubles to several thousand. First of all, the price is affected by the version of the bluetooth module. The higher the version, the more reliable the connection. Version 5.0 is characterized by better stability compared to standards 4.2 and lower.
Models from different manufacturers differ in the way they are powered: USB adapters can receive energy via a USB cable or be powered by a built-in battery. The autonomy of the Bluetooth transmitter also affects the cost of the device.
Some models can support dual link technology for connecting two pairs of headphones to the TV receiver. HDMI Bluetooth transmitters and solutions for wireless video broadcasting are also produced.

Bluetooth stereo receiver/transmitter KN-320 (Transmitter+Receiver)
Similar adapters were found in reviews, but there were repeated negative reviews regarding the lack of a full-fledged stereo mode of operation in transmit mode. This particular model did not seem to be considered.
There really is stereo here - verified. Can work both as a receiver and as a signal transmitter (there is no relay mode) + costs just a penny
One of the interesting and really useful applications is transmitting the sound of almost any TV to wireless headphones
.
This is not only convenient in terms of the absence of wires, but also helps to “save the nerves” of those around you, especially if they are resting! In this way, you can transmit sound not only from TV, but also from any other signal source.
In addition, of course, the adapter can also be used as a regular HT receiver - the most familiar option.
Specifications from the seller:
Model: KN320 Technologies: BT5.0, A2DP, AVRCP (only in receiving mode) Operating range: up to 10 m (in the absence of blocking objects) Device name when pairing (receiver mode): KN320
The equipment is quite simple - well, what did you want for such a price!?
The zip package contains the device itself, a 3.5/3.5 cable and simple instructions.
the adapter itself - on the case there is a hole for an operating mode indicator and a mini-jack audio input/output (3.5 mm)
USB connector, used to power the device
The dimensions are comparable to a regular flash drive, or rather even an adapter for a wireless mouse
The connecting cable is 1 meter long. I immediately bought myself an adapter for tulips, for greater versatility.
The photo shows an adapter with a short cable - I have several options. You may need longer ends, depending on the distance between the sockets used.
The instructions are very simple, in two languages (there is no Russian).
In principle, everything basic is described, but who reads it before encountering difficulties?
What is noteworthy is that there are no control buttons at all, and at first the question may arise - how do you switch operating modes!? It is implemented quite simply, and in my opinion, somewhat unusual - the modes are switched alternately, with the power supply double, the first switch and single switch with repeated ones (in a row). The color of the indicator indicates the current mode.
There are four modes in total; blinking blue—the device is in receiving mode, waiting for a connection.
Once connected, the blue LED lights up continuously.
similarly in transmission mode: after a power interruption, the LED starts blinking red until connected to headphones (for example), after which it turns red.
The last operating mode used for a long time is remembered.
Device stuffing...
Everything is assembled on one chip, the datasheet or description of which I could not find.
On the other hand, it is almost empty, the main part of the board is occupied by an audio connector and several SMD connectors.
Based on testing results:
Price!
The actual operating range is NOT LESS than 10 meters - tested in the summer on the street, I controlled the speaker system with a smartphone (from 15 meters distortion and sound interruptions began). There really is stereo. As for me, the sound quality is very decent - there were no complaints about it. The miniature size of the device will always be at hand, throwing it in the pocket of your bag, without the need to install drivers, etc... since USB is only used to power the adapter. Conveniently, you can use it to connect to almost any sound source that does not include a BT. The disadvantages are that there is some ambiguity during the connection (specifically when used as a signal transmitter) - sometimes the headphones were not located the first time, but then there were no problems with the connection (I tested several models of headphones).
In general, I’m happy with the device, and even more so at such a great price.
Used it in the summer, for several days, when there was a need to organize “music” at an alumni meeting and broadcast the stream from a smartphone to an amplifier that does not have wireless technologies, which is called “cheap and tasty"!
I think the option of using it with a TV is really useful, especially at night, when people close to us are resting - so as not to disturb their sleep! You can connect it to absolutely any TV, the only question is ease of connection - you may need a separate power supply for the adapter if the TV does not have a USB connector (regular charging from a smartphone will do).
UPD At the request of listeners and readers, a test was done through a thick brick wall, in transmission mode - the same 10m+ stable. I worked on the transmission for 20 minutes, the temperature was below normal human
D+ and D- USB go to pins 3_4 and 5_6 of the microcircuit, the adapter is NEVER visible to the computer.
Good luck and good mood to everyone! ☕
How to connect an adapter to a TV
Most models of bluetooth adapters for TV connect to the TV using a standard algorithm:
- A device with a built-in battery must be charged before use.
- Insert the connector of the built-in or included audio cable into the appropriate socket (mini-Jack, RCA, fiber optic connector) of a Samsung TV or another brand. Connect the other end of the cable, if it is not built-in, to the adapter.
- Turn on your Bluetooth headset. Wait until the devices are paired.
- Some TVs require additional navigation through the TV receiver menu. To set up a Bluetooth connection, you need to open the Options - Sound sections. Manufacturers usually provide step-by-step setup instructions in the accompanying documentation for the device.
What is a Bluetooth adapter for TV
Thanks to high-frequency wireless technologies, the user can connect devices with each other over a fairly long distance using Bluetooth. Bluetooth adapters, also called Bluetooth dongles, are quite small and inexpensive devices that make it possible to use this technology on almost all home computers and TVs, while providing a large number of advantages.
It should be noted that thanks to the Bluetooth receiver, the user can create a Smart TV, which will have a huge number of useful functions built in, from the most ordinary TV.
Also, thanks to this device, the user can connect speakers that support the desired technology or Bluetooth headphones to the TV without any problems. This device has fairly small dimensions and is also reasonably priced. In addition, it greatly simplifies the transfer of media files from one device to another.
The Bluetooth function is quite cheap, but at the same time it supports data transfer at very high speeds, and it is also extremely safe. Since the technology was created using the frequency hopping format, interference does not occur at all, even if a large number of users exchange data at the same time. However, this function has one drawback, namely, a limited range. But this problem can also be solved, since more expensive adapter models can quickly transmit data over a distance of more than 100 meters.
How to find out if your TV has bluetooth
You can find out whether your TV has a Bluetooth function by using the TV settings menu. Important fact. On devices of different brands, the content and sequence of menu transitions differ.
To connect the ears to the TV, you need to activate the module of your Bluetooth audio accessory. Using the remote control, you need to open the TV function menu and find the headphone transmitter settings item. On the Lg Smart TV, the Bluetooth receiver-transmitter is configured in the following order:
- Enter the “Settings” menu by clicking on the remote control button in the form of a gear.
- Go to "Sound". Displayed on the screen by an icon in the form of a speaker.
- Activate the Bluetooth function. The search for devices available for connection is carried out automatically.
On models from other brands, the buttons on the remote control that activate the wireless function may be called “Options,” INFO, or MENU. Menu navigation items can be as follows:
- “Wired/wireless networks” or simply “Wireless networks”;
- “Sound effects” or “Sound settings”;
- Bluetooth, “Headset” or “Connect headset”.
If you cannot find such functionality on a smart TV, then the device does not have a built-in Bluetooth module.
