Of course, advanced users can logically assume that it is impossible to amplify the sound on a computer without physically replacing (connecting an external) audio card with a more powerful, modern and expensive model for many reasons (they say, you can’t cram in the inconceivable or embrace the immensity).

And they will be right... partially. Indeed, it is impossible to increase the sound volume on a computer beyond the limited capabilities of a single sound card, but you can improve it so that it becomes louder.

Final touches

In the Output->ASIO subsection you can see two ticked performance modes. Use 64-bit ASIO drivers and Run with high process priority. They're usually enabled by default, but it's a good idea to check them.

You can also check the status of the ASIO console. Sometimes it can be accessed directly in the player, and sometimes its shortcut is located on the mentioned taskbar along with the layout language icons, etc. The bit depth should be set to 24 or 32 bits. You should not enable the so-called dither - this option is needed only for very old audio signal receivers, whose bit capacity is limited to 16 bits.

Regarding the ASIO buffer size, unless your system experiences signal dropouts or other audio glitches, it is best to leave the default value. Decreasing it will increase the likelihood of artifacts appearing, and increasing it will, accordingly, reduce it. A number of audiophiles claim that the best sound can be achieved with the minimum ASIO buffer size. Measurements of audio stream characteristics do not confirm this assumption, but the best instrument is our ears, so you can determine the optimal ASIO buffer size yourself.

A mute function is available on the top panel of the program. In the “Default Preset” line, you can select ready-made templates for customizing the sound: games, TV and movies, music, effects. Each of the available subsections contains its own templates.

In the “EQ” section there is an equalizer. Users can turn audio boost on or off, make changes, or reset settings.

• You can select devices for playback in the “Playback” section.
• The “3D”, “Ambience” and “FX” sections are used to configure the speakers. Here you can select the room size, surround depth, etc.
• In the “Maximizer” window, you can configure the headphones: low and high contours, gain, enable and disable additional effects.
• You can configure the subwoofer in the “Sub” section of the program.

In the system tray, you can open a small Hear program window for quick sound adjustments. Here you can increase the volume, mute the sound and select a template from the list.

Surely, when reading the article, many wondered - what kind of mixing consoles are we talking about, if we talk about them as an addition to the PCI card of a computer?
There are not many requirements for such a device: good characteristics of the audio path (minimum noise and distortion, minimal interpenetration of channels), the inputs/outputs you need and a good headphone amplifier. How to increase sound volume in browser

After installation (in which for some reason it is called Ears: Bass Boost, EQ Any Audio!) you can get to it through a button in the browser extensions menu...
